Meanwhile along the Marine Parade we wait in anticipation of Sydney Water, the NB Council and other Government departments getting together and committing about $150,000 to develop a Masterplan for the area.

The NB CEO confirmed at a recent meeting that Council had written to Sydney Water on 20/8/2021 with the aim of partnering with them to co-fund the project together and address how the plethora of issues can be addressed. This is a significant and expensive project, separate to the Coastal Management Plan which is also on the Council to do list.

For their part, Sydney Water General Manager and Head of System and Asset Planning did meet with NB Council CEO to discuss the collaboration in planning for the Manly to Shelly Beach Promenade. In response to this meeting Sydney Water and Council will comb their respective archives to determine who owns and has maintenance responsibility for the seawall and the walkway.
