Bouquet Play Manly was fantastic. The night lighting of the iconic pine trees on West Esplanade and the Manly Town Hall brought plenty of oohhs and aahhs and it truly was a family event that captured the family values we treasure. The piano was also a highlight popular with all ages. The various walk-through light shows were simple, but isn’t it so much better when areas are lit up. A great way to enjoy our wonderful town centre and laneways. The waste management team did well but it certainly could be even better if there was a continuous tidy up through the hours of special events.

Brickbat To Council for increasing the fees for childcare services by a few dollars for each service, along with the fees for the use of our community centres, carparks, ABC Aquatic Centre and more.

Brickbat To whoever is responsible for safety at the main taxi rank on Belgrave St. The lighting is so poor that people seeking cabs are forced to use their phone lights to find their way to the cab rank. This rank has a bad reputation, which is aggravated by the poor lighting. Dumped shopping trolleys, discarded bikes and rubbish litter the area and can remain for many weeks. When are we going to have some action on the dumping of shopping trolleys and improved lighting for the area?

Brickbat Residents living in the central area are not seeing any patrols by Police. Is this a policy of the new Police management or are they patrolling areas other than the central CBD?

Brickbat To Council for the years of delay in permanently fixing the necessary light at the bottom of the ramp to the yacht club area at East Esplanade. Council continues to blame Ausgrid, but community safety is at risk. It doesn’t matter who owns the light, just fix it and make the area safe to walk home at night.
