North Head National Parks and Wildlife - Fairfax Walk Update

Work is progressing fast and furiously along the cliff line at Fairfax Walk and in front of the Bella Vista cafe (pictured below). New stormwater pipes, a wide pathway, new grassy picnic areas and parking are all taking shape despite the grim looking piles of rocks and soil. Heaps of rubbish and weeds have also been removed.

The North Head Sanctuary Foundation Nursery has supplied indigenous grasses and other plants which are now planted on the slope. NP&Ws are upgrading the hard infrastructure and this leaves the bush improvement and care to volunteers.

If you would like to join in a morning weeding event for World Environment Day on 5th June, meet at the gate opposite the cafe at 8am and learn more about North Head and the post fire recovery of the area.
