Below is Council response to anyone advocating for the reinstatement of the hard copy Manly Parking Permit Scheme Multipurpose parking permit. Previously valid everyday for twelve months, it is now replaced with a online voucher system valid for only 40 separate days across the 12 months and thereafter $5 per day. Not to be confused with the two Northern Beaches Parking Permit stickers, previously dispatched with the Rates Notice, valid for parking at the various beaches, an entirely different scheme, introduced on amalgamation of the three former councils.

The approach to revert to a physical permit for the Manly multi-use permit was considered by the elected Council on 19 May 2026 and was not supported.

While Council does understand that this change may be challenging for some users, this system has been successfully in place in a number of other local government areas for many years. Additionally, Council is committed to assisting the community through this change, and we are confident that, with time and use, this new digital parking permit system will be successful for many years to come. We already have over 4,400 users actively using the system and this number is growing daily. Once again, that you for your correspondence and advocacy.
