Senior staff from NSW Property and Development and AVEO presented their proposal to the MCF at the May meeting.

AVEO intends to build 120 Seniors living 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments on the site along with other compatible health and wellbeing services. The Department has conditioned no more than half the site can be used for any one use.

Once the project specific Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) for the Concept and Early Works for the State Significant Development Application (SSDA) have been issued AVEO will commence five months of due diligence on the site. This will include site and building inspections, testing of ground conditions, biodiversity studies including flora and fauna.

This will be followed later in the year by formal community and stakeholder engagement to inform the preparation of the Concept Masterplan. By the end of 2025 a formal SSDA Masterplan will be lodged with the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The SSDA will be subject to community consultation once it goes on public exhibition, as part of the planning assessment process. Should this be approved AVEO anticipates that the Project will be completed and come to fruition by 2030.
