Bouquet to all the local volunteers who have ‘adopted a beach’ and cleaned up at East and West Esplanade as well as Little Manly. Keep up the good work :)
Brickbat to Council replacing the outdoor dining tables in Market Lane with milk crates. It is looking a bit desolate now.
Bouquet to the fabulous buskers playing regularly in the Corso. The quality and variety of music is excellent.
Brickbat to Council for failing to maintain the landscaping including waterlogged and rotting trees along the Manly to Shelly walk. Midday on a busy sunny Sunday a tree fell across the footpath. Fortunately it fell slowly allowing people to avoid being hit. Whilst able bodied walkers moved the tree and could continue around it a group of people with disabilities and in wheelchairs were unable to continue their midday journey.
Bouquet to Council for repairing 1,182 of a reported 1300 potholes on our roads and working to address the remaining as quickly as possible. Report a pothole online on the Council website. (but there are some issues with the quality of the pothole fills!)
Brickbat to the Manly Post Office which continues to irritate locals and visitors alike. Closed at lunchtimes and often impossible to get into if you have difficulty with the three steps. Parents and grandparents with kids in buggies, people on crutches resulting from an injury, the elderly and the wheelchair bound find it very challenging to operate the often out of order lift.
